Christine Byers of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a woman was grazed in the arm by a stray bullet during Tuesday night’s Cardinals game inside Busch Stadium.

The kicker: the bullet was allegedly fired near the 14th Street and Chouteau Avenue area, which is a little less than a mile away from the stadium, but across Interstate 64 and several city blocks. Police believe the bullet was fired into the air.

The woman felt something painful hit her arm, looked down and saw an abrasion. The bullet was found near her seat when she was being attended to.

Folks: no matter what you see in the movies, don’t fire guns in the air. The bullets go up, yes, but they also come down. Thank goodness no one was seriously hurt.
