Out since Monday, Gary Brown is back in Double-A Richmond’s lineup Thursday after suffering an injury near his eye when he was hit by a bat.
CSNBayArea.com’s Andrew Baggarly has the details:
Brown is, in fact, playing tonight. The 23-year-old center fielder has hit .285/.346/.402 with seven homers and 30 steals in the Eastern League this year. There’s a good chance he’ll be one of the Giants’ September callups; he’s not ready for prime time just yet, but with his speed, he should have some tactical value off the bench late in games.
