The Braves activate Jason Heyward

The Braves just announced that Jason Heyward has been activated and will, in all likelihood, be in the lineup against the Mets tonight.

Heyward’s bat is much needed. His ugly batting line -- .214/.317/.407 -- represents a lot of play when he was injured but when, for some reason or another, no one took him out of the lineup. When healthy -- which ain’t often, but hopefully applies now -- Heyward is a serious threat. And considering that the Braves rank 12th in offense in the National League, his return will be welcome indeed.
