Nick Swisher’s terrible season is officially over, as the Indians announced that the first baseman/outfielder underwent arthroscopic surgery on both knees and will need 8-10 weeks to recover.

Swisher has played through knee problems all year while hitting .208 with eight homers and a .608 OPS in 97 games, setting career-lows across the board before shutting things down two weeks ago.

Swisher turns 34 years old in November and has two seasons remaining on his contract, at $15 million per year.
