The Pirates announced on Tuesday afternoon that the club acquired pitcher Wade LeBlanc from the Mariners for cash considerations or a player to be named later.

LeBlanc, 32, made eight starts and three relief appearances for the Mariners, compiling a 4.50 ERA and a 41/9 K/BB ratio in 50 innings.

LeBlanc will serve as rotation depth. Gerrit Cole returned from the disabled list but struggled mightily in his start against the Phillies on Monday, lasting only two innings. The Pirates announced that Cole has been placed on the 60-day disabled list with posterior inflammation in his right elbow.
