Yesterday Cardinals pitcher Miguel Batista hit Nationals’ infielder Ian Desmond, setting off a little brouhaha. Desmond wasn’t too steamed about it, though:
“It was intentional, but Miggy throws like Miss Iowa. It’s no big deal.”
I had forgotten about the Miss Iowa/Batista stuff. Fun times!
But it’s a new year now, and if you’re curious, this is the current Miss Iowa. This, in contrast, is Miguel Batista.
If I was filling out a pitching staff, I’d be inclined to go with Miss Iowa. Chemistry matters.
