Steve Pearce reports improvement in sore wrist

Steve Pearce Getty

Steve Pearce hasn’t played since Friday due to a sore right wrist, but Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun passes along word that he reported improvement this afternoon.

X-rays came back negative on the wrist, but he received a cortisone shot Saturday and was wearing a brace on the wrist today. He hasn’t swung a bat since being scratched Saturday, but he expects to return to the lineup Wednesday afternoon against the Yankees. Of course, the most important thing is that he feels good for the ALDS.

Pearce has been one of baseball’s biggest surprises this season, batting .297 with 20 home runs and .932 OPS over 98 games.
