Troy Tulowitzki expected to rejoin Rockies on Monday

Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki hasn’t appeared in a major league game since May 30 because of a left groin injury that eventually required surgery.

But that will change early next week.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that Tulowitzki is expected to return to the Rockies’ starting lineup on Monday night against the Giants. He’ll start at shortstop with impressive youngster Josh Rutledge sliding over to second base.

Tulowitzki was batting .287/.360/.486 with eight home runs and 27 RBI in 47 games before getting injured.

He will probably get several precautionary days off as Colorado wraps up its disappointing 2012 campaign.
