Hello, exit velocity. According to Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com, the ball traveled an estimated 467 feet. That’s the second-longest home run in the history of the new Busch Stadium. Holliday actually holds the record with this 469-foot blast against the Cubs on July 20, 2012.
Holliday’s first-inning blast gave the Cardinals a 3-0 lead. That was more than enough for Adam Wainwright, who tossed eight innings of one-run ball for his 18th victory of the season.
