Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes left Wednesday’s NLCS Game 4 in the middle of the second inning due to shoulder soreness. He had a cortisone injection in his left shoulder yesterday, however, and the Mets expect him to be ready for the World Series starting on Tuesday.
Cespedes was not at today’s voluntary workout at Citi Field, but manager Terry Collins says: waxed optimistic. He also added that, contrary to what some people have implied, Cespedes did not hurt his shoulder playing golf. Rather, he likely did it on a swing of the bat.
