Owen White has signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization.
No surprise here after White was removed from the White Sox’ 40-man roster at the conclusion of the season. The 26-year-old former Rangers prospect made only three relief appearances for Chicago after being claimed off waivers from the Yankees back in spring training. He’ll attempt to rebuild his long-term value overseas in Korea.

White Sox sent OFs Dominic Fletcher and Corey Julks and RHPs Elvis Peguero and Owen White to Triple-A Charlotte.
It’s merely offseason housekeeping for the White Sox. Fletcher and Julks are the prominent names here as the tandem figure to draw some interest as depth outfielders on the open market after they elect free agency. Peguero made only two appearances for Chicago after being claimed off waivers from the Brewers before suffering a season-ending elbow strain.

White Sox activated RHP Owen White from the 15-day injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte.
White will head to the minors to close out the season after missing the past month with a right hip impingement. The 26-year-old former Rangers farmhand has made three relief appearances this season for Chicago.

White Sox placed RHP Owen White on the 15-day injured list with a right hip impingement.
White will be out at least two weeks with the injury, and a return would likely come in the early portion of September; depending on severity. Elvis Peguero is up to take his place.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #67
White Sox recalled RHP Owen White from Triple-A Charlotte.
White, a former Rangers prospect, has made two appearances for the White Sox this season, giving up three runs in 6 2/3 innings. He’s been starting in the minors — he was 0-8 with a 4.93 ERA for Charlotte — so the White Sox will probably use him as a long man

White Sox optioned RHP Owen White to Triple-A Charlotte.
White was up for a couple games after veteran Dan Altavilla hit the injured list over the weekend with a lat strain but didn’t end up getting into a game. The 25-year-old righty has made a pair of relief appearances this season for the White Sox.

White Sox recalled RHP Owen White from Triple-A Charlotte.
White gets the call to rejoin Chicago’s relief corps with Dan Altavilla hitting the injured list with a lat strain. The 25-year-old righty has posted a 4.05 ERA across 6 2/3 innings (two appearances) this season in the big leagues.

White Sox optioned RHP Owen White to Triple-A Charlotte.
The 25-year-old right-hander was with the big league club for just a week, but he’ll get sent out to make room for Tyler Gilbert’s return from the injured list. White registered a 6.23 ERA, 2.08 WHIP and a 5/2 K/BB ratio over 4 1/3 innings in his lone appearance with the White Sox.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #58
White Sox recalled RHP Owen White from Triple-A Charlotte.
White has made nine starts in Triple-A this season, posting a 5.24 ERA with just 36 strikeouts in 44 2/3 innings. The Rangers did use him as a long reliever last season, so it’s possible that White could fill the same role in Chicago, but we’ll have to see what their plans are for him in the coming days.
  • CWS Relief Pitcher #57
White Sox optioned RHP Owen White and RHP Nick Nastrini to Triple-A Charlotte.
White was claimed off waivers last month from the Yankees and will open the regular season back in the minors as extra organizational depth. He should get a look with Chicago at some point in the near future. Nastrini was hit extremely hard in nine appearances (eight starts) last year with the White Sox in his first taste of the big leagues.
