  • TB Left Fielder #3
Raimel Tapia has elected free agency.
The well-traveled 29-year-old outfielder will be on the move again after finishing the 2023 campaign with the Rays. Overall, he hit .236/.317/.338 with three homers, 13 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 169 plate appearances between the Red Sox, Brewers and Rays. If he is able to land a semi-regular role in a major league outfield for the 2024 season, he’ll maintain some fantasy value in deeper formats thanks to his ability to swipe bases.
  • TB Left Fielder #3
Rays sent OF Raimel Tapia outright to Triple-A Durham.
It’s unsurprising to see Tapia jettisoned from Tampa Bay’s 40-man roster at the outset of the offseason after getting a late-season promotion to replace an injured Brandon Lowe. The 29-year-old former top prospect got into 44 big league contests this past season between the Red Sox, Brewers and Rays. He’ll likely have to settle this offseason for a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
  • TB Left Fielder #3
Rays selected the contract of OF Raimel Tapia from Triple-A Durham.
Tapia receives the call to replace an injured Brandon Lowe (knee) on Tampa Bay’s active roster ahead of Saturday’s contest against the Blue Jays, his former team. The 29-year-old outfielder signed a minor league pact with the Rays back in early August after batting .230/.308/.338 with three homers and eight steals in 158 plate appearances this season between the Brewers and Red Sox.
  • TB Left Fielder #3
Rays signed OF Raimel Tapia to a minor league contract.
Tapia elected free agency after being designated for assignment by the Brewers last month. The 29-year-old has hit just .230/.308/.338 over 158 plate appearances in the majors this year, but makes for useful veteran depth.
  • MLB Outfielder #3
Raimel Tapia has elected free agency.
Tapia will test the free agent waters after declining an outright minor league assignment. The 29-year-old outfielder was removed from Milwaukee’s 40-man roster over the weekend to make room for top prospect Sal Frelick and went unclaimed on waivers.
  • MIL Outfielder #3
Brewers designated OF Raimel Tapia for assignment.
It’s a little surprising to see Tapia get cut for Sal Frelick, if only because he was starting more than some of the alternatives. Still, he hit just .173/.267/.288 in his 20 games with the Brewers.
  • FA Left Fielder #10
Raimel Tapia launched a solo homer on Wednesday in the Brewers’ loss to the Diamondbacks.
Tapia fifth-inning tater off righty Zac Gallen accounted for Milwaukee’s only offensive output in a low-scoring series finale. It was his first round-tripper in a Brewers uniform.

  • FA Left Fielder #10
Brewers signed OF Raimel Tapia to a one-year contract.
Tapia will be in line for some outfield starts against righties, but he’ll probably be utilized more as a pinch-hitter, particularly with Jesse Winker due back in the coming days. The 29-year-old corner outfielder hit .264/.333/.368 in 97 plate appearances for the Red Sox before being let go last week.

  • FA Left Fielder #10
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports the Brewers are signing free agent outfielder Raimel Tapia to a one-year contract.
There’s a roster move coming for the Brewers ahead of Tuesday’s series opener against the Twins as Tapia will join Milwaukee’s active roster. The 29-year-old corner outfielder, who was released by the Red Sox over the weekend, makes sense for the Brewers in a reserve role after losing both Garrett Mitchell (shoulder) and Tyrone Taylor (elbow) to injuries this season.

  • FA Left Fielder #10
Red Sox released OF Raimel Tapia.
The 29-year-old outfielder was designated for assignment earlier in the week. He passed through waivers unclaimed, but refused his outright assignment to Triple-A Worcester, making him a free agent. Tapia slashed .264/.333/.368 with one homer and six swipes in 97 plate appearances with the Red Sox. It shouldn’t take him long to land on his feet elsewhere, a team like the Tigers and their plethora of injuries in the outfield could be one potential destination.
