Blue Jays acquired OF RJ Schreck from the Mariners in exchange for INF Justin Turner and cash considerations.
Schreck, a ninth-round pick out of Vandy last year, just moved up to Double-A last week after hitting .261/.401/.464 with 12 homers in 78 games at high-A Everett. He’s 24 and he doesn’t offer much defensive value, so he’s going to need very strong minor league numbers in order to get a chance in the majors. The approach is great, but he might top out as a Triple-A guy.
