Cardinals LHP prospect Ross Vance delivered seven scoreless innings Saturday in a win for Rookie-level Johnson City.
He racked up six strikeouts while limiting Bristol to only three hits. Saturday was a big step for Vance, who has mostly been used out of the pen this year. The 24-year-old went undrafted after going 7-2 with a 4.91 ERA in 18 outings for the University of West Virginia this spring. So far he’s limited opponents to a .227 average while providing an impressive 12.44 K/9 in 34 innings of work.
