Christenson played in just one game after joining Triple-A Oklahoma.

With Doug Glanville hurting, the Rangers needed another option in center. If it was between Christenson and Donnie Sadler, the team made the right choice. Christenson figures to be sent down once Glanville and Kevin Mench are ready to play.

Manager Buck Showalter calls Christenson ''a guy you can trust.’' Buck likes Christenson’s defense and attitude, but installed Carl Everett in the top spot in the order. As long as the Rangers remain convinced that only a top-notch defender can man center field for them, it looks like Christenson will have a job with Doug Glanville out. Even though he hits in the Ranger lineup, though, you don’t want him in yours.
