Byron Buxton (hip) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday’s series finale against the Astros.

Buxton winds up sitting out the entire three-game series in Houston due to a right hip impingement. The 32-year-old fantasy star should benefit from Thursday’s off day and figures to be ready for Friday’s series opener against the Yankees. It’ll be Ryan Kreidler handling center field with Josh Bell at DH for the third consecutive game on Wednesday night.

Byron Buxton (hip) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Astros.

Buxton will miss his second straight game and remains day-to-day after an MRI revealed a right hip impingement. It doesn’t appear to be a serious concern, but fantasy managers should be prepared for another absence during Wednesday’s series finale with an off day looming on Thursday. It’ll be Ryan Kreidler patrolling center field with Josh Bell at DH in his absence.

Byron Buxton is out of the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Astros.

There’s been zero indication that Buxton is dealing with any sort of physical ailment, but fantasy managers should continue to closely monitor his status, especially since he was at DH on Sunday against the Rockies. It’ll be Ryan Kreidler patrolling center field with Josh Bell at DH in his absence. There’s no reason for panic at this juncture.

Ryan Kreidler hit a go-ahead solo homer in the seventh inning to help the Twins to a 3-2 win over the Rockies on Sunday.

With the score tied at 2-2, Kreidler unknotted the game with a solo homer to give the Twins a 3-2 lead and ultimately a victory. That’s the fifth homer for Kreidler in his 41 games, and he’s hitting an outstanding .290/.365/.527 over 93 at-bats. It’s hard to take this too seriously, but he’s looked the part since getting regular run.

Ryan Kreidler went 3-for-4 with a triple, four RBI and a walk versus the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

The triple, a 413-foot shot to center, would have been a homer in 21 ballparks. Kreidler is batting .270/.365/.527 in 85 plate appearances this season, and while there is very little reason to expect him to keep that up, it makes no sense that the Twins have continued to use Tristan Gray, a far weaker defender, at shortstop over Kreidler most of the time since moving Brooks Lee to third.

Byron Buxton (shoulder) is out of the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Royals.

Twins manager Derek Shelton said there are no plans for Buxton to undergo imaging after he suffered a right shoulder contusion while making a phenomenal leaping catch at the center-field wall during the third inning of Friday’s series opener against the Royals. It’s the same shoulder that he injured while sliding into second base back on May 23. The 32-year-old fantasy stalwart will get some extra time off to rest and recover this weekend, but he appears to have avoided serious injury. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day heading into Sunday’s series finale. It’ll be Ryan Kreidler taking over in center field on Saturday afternoon.

Trevor Larnach is absent from the Twins’ starting lineup for Friday evening’s tilt against the Royals.

It’s a rare day off for Larnach with an opposing right-hander on the hill. Ryan Kreidler will start in his place in left field and will bat eighth for the Twins against Royals’ right-hander Michael Wacha on Friday night in Minneapolis.

Ryan Kreidler hit a three-run homer off Mike Burrows in the Twins’ 4-1 defeat of the Astros on Wednesday.

Kreidler impressed with some surprising power last month, but the Twins didn’t buy in and sent him back down on Apr. 22 anyway. Given another chance last week, he’s gone 5-for-13 in four games. Overall, he has three homers in 32 plate appearances, topping his total of two in 211 career major league plate appearances entering the season. His average bat speed is over 74 mph, up from 71 mph last year and 68.5 mph in 2024. As crazy as the idea would have seemed to be a few months ago, it’s probably time for the Twins to give him a look as a starter at short or third.

Byron Buxton (hip) remains out of the Twins’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s series finale against the Brewers.

It’s the fourth straight game that Buxton has missed due to lingering right hip flexor soreness. There’s growing optimism though that he should be ready to return on Monday. Ryan Kreidler will start in his place in center field and will bat eighth for the Twins against Brewers’ southpaw Robert Gasser.

Twins recalled INF/OF Ryan Kreidler from Triple-A St. Paul

Kreidler was 3-for-14 with two home runs in his five games with the Twins earlier this season. He will most likely resume a super utility role off the bench.
