Tepera signed a one-year pact with the Cardinals earlier this week and has already been removed from the club’s 40-man roster to make room for outfielder Tyler O’Neill to return ahead of Thursday’s series opener against the Cubs. The 35-year-old journeyman right-hander wound up making a pair of relief appearances for St. Louis and figures to pass through waivers unclaimed.
