    Athletics selected the contract of RHP Scott McGough from Triple-A Las Vegas.

    McGough, 35, was signed to a minor league contract back in June after he elected free agency from the Diamondbacks. He has posted a 3.95 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and an 18/4 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings at Triple-A Las Vegas since joining the A’s organization. He’ll give manager Mark Kotsay another option to deploy in the middle innings.
