Scott, 33, has major league experience, but was always fighting an uphill battle at securing a spot in the team’s crowded Opening Day bullpen. He pitched well in Grapefruit League action, hurling four scoreless innings with a 1.25 WHIP and a 2/2 K/BB ratio. He’ll open the year as depth at Triple-A Gwinnett and should be one of the first options to get the call should injury or ineffectiveness strike.

Scott fell off the map completely this past season, getting lit up for a calamitous 7.90 ERA — 6.32 FIP — across 24 appearances between the Astros and Diamondbacks this past season. The unexpected implosion came after posting a career-best 2.23 ERA across 68 2/3 innings for Houston during the 2024 campaign. The 33-year-old journeyman represents a low-risk depth addition for Atlanta in the event they can help him re-discover his previous form. He’ll compete for a bullpen role in spring training.

Scott was lit up to the tune of an inflated 7.90 ERA across 27 1/3 innings over 24 appearances this season between the Astros and Diamondbacks. The 33-year-old figures to get another opportunity somewhere this offseason since he compiled a stellar 2.23 ERA across a career-high 68 2/3 innings (62 appearances) for Houston back in 2024.

The 33-year-old hurler was designated for assignment on Tuesday but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will stick around to function as extra bullpen depth for the Astros for the time being. Scott has posted a 7.90 ERA, 1.90 WHIP and a 24/18 K/BB ratio over 27 1/3 innings between the Astros and Diamondbacks this season.

Scott was shellacked for five runs over 1 2/3 innings, and the Astros will boot him from both the active and 40-man roster as punishment. The 33-year-old will hit the waiver wire, and there isn’t likely to be a ton of interest.

Scott returns to Houston’s relief corps after bouncing around between a couple different organizations this season. The well-traveled 33-year-old compiled a stellar 2.23 ERA across a career-high 68 2/3 innings (62 appearances) last year for the Astros. He’ll operate in low-leverage spots.

The 33-year-old right-hander elected free agency earlier in the week after refusing an outright assignment to Triple-A Reno from the Diamondbacks. Scott had posted a 9.00 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and a 7/4 K/BB ratio over nine innings in six appearances out of the D’Backs’ bullpen. He’ll add extra depth for the Astros at the Triple-A level.

Scott will remain with Arizona as extra organizational relief depth on the doorstep of the majors. The 33-year-old passed through waivers over the weekend after being designated for assignment after just six appearances for the Diamondbacks.

The 33-year-old right-hander struggled in his couple of weeks with the Diamondbacks, registering a 9.00 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and a 7/4 K/BB ratio over nine innings in his six appearances. Given the overall lack of quality bullpen depth around the league, Scott may pique another team’s interest on waivers.

Scott joins Arizona’s relief mix ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Mariners just a handful of days after signing a minor league deal with the club. The well-traveled 33-year-old reliever was jettisoned by the Astros last month after struggling to a bloated 5.40 ERA across 16 2/3 innings (17 appearances).
