With most of the back end of the Twins bullpen having pitched in two of the last three games, Adams was summoned in the ninth for the save chance with a three-run lead. He gave up a run on two hits and a groundout before holding on to secure the win and his second save. Despite the save on Friday, the 26-year-old right-hander likely won’t factor into regular ninth-inning opportunities. And it’s a situation that’s been as volatile as any.

Adams was just optioned to Triple-A on Thursday, but he’ll get to return with Bailey Ober (elbow) landing on the injured list. The 26-year-old hurler has struggled to an 8.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and an 11/9 K/BB ratio across nine innings with the Twins this season.

Adams, 26, has been knocked around in six appearances with the Twins this season, posting an 8.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and an 11/9 K/BB ratio across his nine innings. He’ll continue to hone his craft at the Triple-A level until a need arises in the Twins’ bullpen.

Adams had a 7.49 ERA in 18 appearances with the Twins last year. He’s been far better this year with a 3.38 ERA in five appearances. On Sunday, he came in to get the final out and notch his first MLB save. Adams is the 11th different reliever to record a save for the Twins this year already, making it impossible to rely on anyone in Minnesota for consistent saves.

Adams has allowed three runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings for the Twins this season. He’ll operate in bulk relief.

The Twins needed a spot on the active roster for Zebby Matthews, so Adams was sent down. The 26-year-old has a 7.36 ERA in 3 2/3 innings out of the bullpen this season.

Adams gets the call to bolster Minnesota’s bullpen this weekend with Joe Ryan (elbow) and likely Zebby Matthews coming up to replace and injured Taj Bradley (pectoral) in the rotation. The 26-year-old made 18 appearances, including a pair of starts, for the Twins last year.

The 26-year-old hurler had already been at Triple-A St. Paul on a minor league rehab assignment and he’ll remain there while he continues to work himself back into form. Adams has been sidelined since the end of spring training due to a right triceps strain.

Adams was in the running for a spot in long relief before his elbow started barking. He’s back throwing now, so this should be a rather short IL stay. However, he might be optioned out once healthy.

Adams didn’t get more than four outs in any of his four Triple-A appearances while in the minors, so it looks like the Twins will treat him as more of a traditional reliever this month than the swingman he was previously. He had a 7.71 ERA in two starts and six relief appearances between July and August.
