Trent Harris notched his second major league save with a perfect ninth Monday against the Twins.

The 27-year-old Harris has a 2.14 ERA and a 27/7 K/BB in 21 innings since getting his first major league callup on Aug. 7. He’ll be off Tuesday after working the last two days, so Dylan Smith might get a save chance then.

Trent Harris pitched a scoreless ninth on Wednesday to earn the save in the Giants’ 7-6 win over the Cardinals.

The Giants have seven saves since the trade deadline, and Harris is the fifth different reliever to earn one. Dylan Smith is the only one with multiple saves during this span, but Tony Vitello has been using a closer by committee all season long. Harris’ save against St. Louis was the first of his big-league career.

Giants selected the contract of RHP Trent Harris from Triple-A Sacramento.

Harris will provide the Giants with a fresh arm that’s capable of working multiple innings for Friday’s bullpen game against the Tigers. It’s the first trip to the big leagues for the 27-year-old right-hander. He posted a 3.12 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 52/18 K/BB ratio over 40 1/3 innings in 29 appearances at Triple-A Sacramento.

Giants reassigned RHPs Will Bednar and Trent Harris, C Diego Cartaya and OF Bo Davidson to minor league camp.

It’s the first round of cuts that the Giants have made this spring, so there aren’t any surprises in the group. Bednar, 25, appeared in four Cactus League contests, registering a 2.25 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 3/4 K/BB ratio over four innings. He could break through and debut with the Giants at some point during the 2026 campaign.
