Rays 1B prospect Xavier Isaac underwent brain surgery in July.
Isaac announced on Instagram that he underwent “life-saving” surgery on his brain in July after a scan revealed the operation was necessary. The 21-year-old is one of the top prospects in the Tampa Bay system, and thanks to that operation — and assuming there are no setbacks — he could make his debut in 2026.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said 1B prospect Xavier Isaac is dealing with a sore elbow, but they “don’t think he’ll miss too much time.”
Isaac has been splitting time between first base and the outfield as he tries to expedite his path to the major leagues, and Cash mentioned that his soreness is likely a product of making different throws in shifting between the positions. That’s obviously something to team is going to want to address immediately if they hope versatility is part of his future; however, it doesn’t seem like this is a concern right now.

Rays 1B prospect Xavier Isaac went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts on Friday for Double-A Montgomery.
Welcome to Double-A, kid. Isaac had a rough night on Friday in his upper-minors debut, but remains one of the more interesting slugging prospect out there from a fantasy perspective. The 20-year-old first baseman earned the midseason promotion after posting a .917 OPS with 15 homers in 70 games to open the year at High-A Bowling Green.
  • Orioles C/1B prospect Samuel Basallo is at catcher and batting cleanup for the American League during Saturday’s All-Star Futures Game at Globe Life Field.
It’s a star-studded lineup with several of the top fantasy prospects in the game featured alongside Basallo. The 19-year-old burgeoning slugger has morphed into one of the premier dynasty hitters in the fantasy landscape last year, and has backed it up this season in the upper minors, batting .274/.338/.449 with 12 homers and seven steals through 75 games for Double-A Bowie. Here’s the full lineup: Max Clark CF, Cole Young 2B, Sebastian Walcott SS, Basallo C, Spencer Jones RF, Xavier Isaac 1B, Colson Montgomery 3B, Jaison Chourio LF and Harry Ford DH.

Rays 1B prospect Xavier Isaac went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI on Friday for High-A Bowling Green.
Isaac capped off a red-hot May performance with a three-hit effort to raise his full-season OPS to a robust .923 mark through 43 contests. The 20-year-old slugger is rapidly emerging as one of the top prospects in the entire fantasy landscape as he continues rocketing towards the majors. He’s unlikely to get there by the conslusion of the 2024 campaign, but he’s likely going to finish the year as a top-10 overall fantasy prospect.

Rays selected East Forsyth HS (NC) 1B Xavier Isaac with the 29th pick of the 2022 MLB Draft.
