Hiraldo

Hiraldo returns to Baltimore’s injury-depleted relief mix for Monday’s series opener against the White Sox. The 29-year-old righty has compiled an inflated 5.65 ERA across 14 1/3 innings over 12 appearances in the big leagues this season.

Hiraldo was awful while allowing three runs in his 1 1/3 innings of work Tuesday against Boston, and the Orioles recalled Roansy Contreras to take his spot on the roster. Hiraldo could be back when rosters expand.

It was surprising that Hiraldo was the choice in the ninth, but the Orioles had used Keegan Akin in the sixth and seventh tonight. Hiraldo blew the save, but he preserved the tie in the ninth, and the Orioles wound up winning in 11, with Corbin Martin getting the save. No one in the Orioles pen seems worth rostering in 10- or 12-team leagues right now.

He’ll take once of the roster spots that was vacated as the Orioles dealt away Andrew Kittredge, Charlie Morton, Ramon Urias, Cedric Mullins, Ryan O’Hearn and Ramon Laureano on Thursday. Heraldo, 29, holds a 2.08 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and a 2/0 K/BB ratio over 4 1/3 innings in three appearances out of the O’s bullpen this season.

Hiraldo was up for the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Blue Jays. He’s been shipped back to allow the club to bring up a couple fresh arms ahead of the nightcap.

With Colin Selby (hamstring) landing on the IL, Hiraldo will get another shot in the Orioles bullpen. He’s allowed no runs on one hit in 2 1/3 innings for Baltimore this season and has a 5.16 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 43/8 K/BB ratio in 29 2/3 innings at Triple-A this year.

Hiraldo pitched one scoreless frame in two days with the Orioles.

Hiraldo returns to Baltimore’s bullpen for Saturday’s contest against the Rockies. The unheralded 29-year-old rookie made one relief appearance earlier this season for the Orioles.

Hiraldo is sent down to make room for Brandon Young, with Young recalled from Norfolk to start Wednesday’s game against the Rangers. Hiraldo will likely be up and down throughout the 2025 campaign.

Hiraldo made his Baltimore debut back on May 27 and returns to the big leagues to replace veteran Yennier Cano in the club’s bullpen ahead of Sunday’s showdown against the Yankees. The 29-year-old righty holds a strong 2.77 ERA across 26 innings (17 appearances) this season across three minor league levels.
