Outfielder Yeremy Cabrera was traded from the Rangers to the Nationals in the MacKenzie Gore deal.
The 20-year-old Cabrera wasn’t particularly highly regarded signing out of the Dominican Republic four years ago, but he put up really nice numbers playing summer ball before faltering some in Low-A last year; he hit .256/.364/.366 with eight homers in 102 games. He’s plenty fast enough to handle center and he’ll take a walk, but his ability to hit for a solid average at higher levels is going to be key to his prospect status.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Rangers have a deal in place to acquire left-hander MacKenzie Gore from the Nationals.
The Nationals are set to receive a package of five prospects in return: infielders Gavin Fien and Devin Fitz-Gerald, outfielder Yeremy Cabrera, first baseman Abimelec Ortiz and right-hander Alejandro Rosario. It’s a tremendous get for the Rangers as Gore will bolster the top of their rotation with a strong left-handed arm that they were solely lacking. The 26-year-old southpaw registered a 4.17 ERA and an 185/64 K/BB ratio across 159 2/3 innings with the Nationals in 2025. He’s under team control through the 2027 season.
