Jesús Sánchez (wrist) is back in the lineup for Wednesday’s contest against the Braves.
Sánchez is at DH and hitting cleanup following a brief one-game absence after being hit on the wrist by a ball that was thrown from the stands during Sunday’s game against Baltimore. He appears to have avoided serious injury and isn’t expected to miss any additional time. It’ll be George Springer getting a maintenance day with rookie Yohendrick Piñango picking up another start in right field on Wednesday evening at Truist Park.

Jesús Sánchez (wrist) is out of the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Braves.
Sánchez likely would’ve been in the lineup against righty Bryce Elder on Tuesday night had he not suffered a right wrist contusion when he was struck by a ball that was thrown from the stands during Sunday’s game against the Orioles. It was a bizarre incident, and by all accounts a misunderstanding by a fan, but Sánchez seems to have avoided serious injury. He’s day-to-day for now. It’ll be hard-hitting rookie Yohendrick Piñango taking over in right field in his absence.

Yohendrick Pinango went 2-for-2 and swatted a three-run homer on Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Blue Jays past the Orioles.
The 24-year-old outfielder didn’t even start the game, he entered after Jesús Sánchez was struck by a fan-thrown ball while in the outfield during the fifth inning. He made the most of his time in the lineup though, smacking a single to center in the seventh inning and then a 421-foot two-run shot off of Tyler Wells in the eighth. On the season, Pinango is now slashing .294/.333/.447 with three homers and 16 RBI in his first 90 plate appearances.

Yohendrick Pinango went 1-for-4 with a solo home run against the Marlins on Tuesday.
Pinango’s home run was his second. He hit a solo shot off Sandy Alcantara in the sixth inning. Pinango’s hitting .303 with 12 RBI in 76 at-bats. He hit fifth in the batting order and is worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.

Yohendrick Piñango went 2-for-4 with his first career home run during Saturday’s extra-inning win over the Tigers.
Piñango took Tigers reliever Kyle Finnegan deep for a game-tying solo shot in the seventh inning at Comerica Park. The 24-year-old rookie smashed a line-drive shot traveled just 348 feet and barely cleared the right-field wall. He’s been an unexpected revelation for the Blue Jays this season, hitting .364 (16-for-44) with seven RBI through 15 games. There’s some sneaky fantasy appeal here, especially if he’s going to continue hitting near the top of Toronto’s strong lineup.

Yohendrick Piñango is batting second and playing left field for the Blue Jays on Friday.
Piñango has batted second in all three of his starts so far since returning from Triple-A Buffalo, and while it looks like he’ll be platooned early on, he is hitting .361/.410/.417 in the early going. With the combination of hitting high in the Jays order and a good batting average, Piñango could be a deep-league thought for the desperate in the outfield.

Blue Jays recalled OF Yohendrick Piñango from Triple-A Buffalo.
Piñango was sent to Triple-A this weekend when Addison Barger returned from the IL despite hitting 423 (11-for-26) with four RBI in 10 games for the Blue Jays. With Barger now back in the IL with elbow inflammation, Piñango will come right back up and is an intriguing add in deeper formats.

Addison Barger will undergo an MRI on his right elbow after waking up with limited range of motion Sunday and getting scratched from the lineup.
Barger made a terrific 101-mph throw from right to nail Jorge Soler at the plate in Saturday’s game, but it looks like he might pay a price for it. Yohendrick Piñango figures to be recalled to share time with Myles Straw if Barger returns to the IL.

Blue Jays activated 3B/OF Addison Barger from the 10-day injured list.
Barger is hitting second on Saturday against the Angels in his return to Toronto’s lineup after missing nearly five weeks recovering from a left ankle sprain. The 26-year-old power-hitter was one of last year’s biggest breakthroughs, launching 21 homers in 135 games. His return sends hot-hitting rookie Yohendrick Piñango, who hit .423 (11-for-26) with four RBI in 10 games for the Blue Jays since late April, back to the minors.

Blue Jays optioned OF Yohendrick Pinango to Triple-A Buffalo.
It’s a tough break for Pinango, who has been outstanding for the Blue Jays since arriving in the majors back on April 25. The hard-hitting 24-year-old rookie heads back to the minors after batting .423 (11-for-26) with four RBI in 10 games for Toronto. There simply isn’t room for him with Addison Barger back from the injured list to reclaim his starting role.
