Remillard

Remillard passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week. The 30-year-old infielder will likely stick around as extra organizational depth back at Triple-A Charlotte rather than elect free agency.

Remillard is removed from the active and 40-man rosters with Duke Ellis having his contract selected from Double-A Montgomery. Assuming Remillard goes unclaimed, he will likely report back to Triple-A Charlotte as a depth piece.

Benintendi and Gavin Sheets will both take a seat against southpaw Carlos Rodon on Sunday. While they rest, the White Sox will deploy Corey Julks in left field and Zack Remillard at second base.

Remillard was outrighted to the minors last week after he cleared waivers. The 30-year-old doesn’t offer anything for fantasy managers and will continue to be an organizational depth piece for Chicago.

Remillard went unclaimed on waivers and will likely wind up sticking around with the White Sox as extra organizational depth after being removed earlier this week from the club’s 40-man roster.

Remillard is removed from the 40-man roster, and the White Sox used that space to select the contract of Danny Mendick. If Remillard goes unclaimed, he’ll have the option to elect free agency or report back to Triple-A Charlotte.

Remillard is sent down to make room for Eloy Jimenez after Jimenez was activated off the injured list. Remillard will provide organizational depth for the remainder of 2024.

The versatile 30-year-old will add depth on the White Sox’ bench. Remillard was off to a brutal start offensively at Triple-A Charlotte — slashing .158/.267/.211 with zero homers, three RBI and an 8/6 K/BB ratio over 45 plate appearances in his 10 games there. He can safely be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Remillard took Angels’ right-hander Carlos Estévez deep in the third inning, tying the game at 1-1. That would wind up being the extent of their offense. The 30-year-old infielder finished the day 1-for-3 and is now hitting .273 (3-for-11) with a pair of homers, three RBI and one stolen base so far this spring.

It’s Remillard’s first outright, so he’ll be staying put in the organization, and he should have the chance to win his spot back this spring. The 29-year-old hit .252/.295/.320 in 160 plate appearances for the White Sox as a rookie.
