That was the right call. Hunter earned the holeshot in the second race and Jett attacked early and then fell back a little to keep from getting roosted. Jett did not let him get away, however, and Laps 4 and 5 were some of the best racing seen all season.
Jett repeatedly pressured Hunter before finally taking the lead.
Jett stretched his advantage to seven seconds until he crashed heavily on Lap 12. Jett’s bike landed on him and pinned his boot to the ground. Jett remounted in fifth and handed the overall podium and the points’ lead to Hunter.
Hunter now leads the championship battle by 10 points.

Jett faded to fifth with his crash and was third overall after finishing second in the first race.
RJ Hampshire came up just shy of the podium and finished fourth overall with a 3-4.
