The Motul Petit Le Mans was stopped for a minimum 30-minute weather hold because of lightning near Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship officials displayed the red flag and brought the cars to the pit lane with about 6 hours and 25 minutes remaining in the 2026 season finale. The clock continues to run on the 10-hour race while under red.
The red flag was lifted just past the four-hour mark at aroud 4:15 p.m. ET. Colin Braun was leading the Grand Touring Prototype category in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06.
In LMP2, Parker Thompson was in the first place with the No. 52 Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA. In GTD Pro, Tommy Milner was first i the No. 4 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports, and Albert Costa led in GTD for Conquest Racing’s No. 34 Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO.
The race began shortly after noon under inclement weather, but the track dried fairly quickly before the return of midafternoon storms.
