The race will determine the eight drivers who will advance to the Round of 8. Chase Elliott, the winner last week at Talladega Superspeedway, is locked into the next round.

Sunday’s race will be run against the backdrop of continuing driver frustration about safety issues with the Next Gun car. Officials met with drivers Saturday morning to hear more about their concerns.

Conor Daly, starting last, will be making his Cup debut. He lost control and hit the wall in practice.
