Boniface NDong had 16 points, nine rebounds and a block tonight for the Clippers.
Who? Don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard of him, and don’t get excited and pick him up in fantasy leagues, either.
  • Boniface Ndong is competing with Rodney White for the final roster spot with the Clippers.
He may have won the spot tonight, by outscoring White 12 to seven. We’ll find out tomorrow.
  • Boniface Ndong has survived the final roster cuts and made the Clippers opening day roster.
“It would mean that my hard work did pay off,” Ndong said. “Of course, I’m nervous. It’s normal.” Ndong averaged 7.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 14.4 minutes in five exhibition games. He edged Rodney White for the final roster spot.

The Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday renounced their rights to guard Shaun Livingston, Dan Dickau, Boniface N’Dong, Smush Parker and James Singleton.
The five players no longer count toward the Clippers’ salary cap. After renouncing a player, a team can re-sign him but must have room under the salary cap or ink the player to the minimum salary exception. Livingston’s devastating knee injury leaves his NBA future in doubt, while the other four are iffy for making an NBA roster this season, as well.
  • Boniface Ndong started Wednesday’s finale against Dallas and had four points and seven boards.
With Elton Brand sidelined, the rookie got his first start. He might not make the Clippers playoff roster though.
