Bub Carrington finished Sunday’s loss to the Cavaliers with 20 points (7-of-18 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), two rebounds, nine assists, two steals, one block and four three-pointers.
Carrington finished his second NBA season on a positive note, totaling 50 points in the Wizards’ final two games. However, his category-league fantasy value remained low over the final month of the season, even with the increased playing time. With a healthy Trae Young in the mix, Carrington will compete for the backup point guard role in 2026-27. While he’s worth holding onto in dynasty leagues, redraft league managers are likely to leave Bub on the board in drafts next fall.

Bub Carrington accumulated 30 points (11-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, four assists, one steal and six three-pointers in Friday’s loss to the Heat.
A double-digit scorer in six consecutive games, Carrington matched his season-high on Friday with 30 points. The second-year guard made six of his seven three-point attempts against the Heat while finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. With a healthy Trae Young in the mix, Carrington is going to have a reserve role next season. That said, a good finish to the season would help solidify his place in the rotation.

Bub Carrington finished Wednesday’s loss to the 76ers with 13 points (5-of-14 FGs), one rebound, seven assists, one block and three three-pointers.
For the first time in over two months, Carrington has recorded seven assists or more in consecutive games. Against the 76ers, he may not have had the best night shooting the basketball, but the second-year guard did not commit a turnover in 31 minutes. A strong finish to the season won’t change Carrington’s outlook for next season, as a healthy Trae Young will run the show. However, Bub playing well would likely give the front office more confidence about the Wizards’ point guard situation behind Young.

Bub Carrington produced five points (2-of-6 FGs), one rebound, seven assists and one three-pointer in the loss to the Lakers on Monday.
The majority of Carrington’s offensive production on Monday came from facilitating. Although he impressed by logging a team-high in assists, he also turned the ball over four times in his 28 minutes on the floor. Carrington hardly looked to score in this game and finished in single digits as a scorer for the first time in two weeks, snapping a seven-game streak of double-digit scoring performances. He’ll face the Sixers on Wednesday with a chance to bounce back as a scorer.

Bub Carrington finished Sunday’s loss to the Knicks with 14 points (4-of-9 FGs, 5-of-8 FTs), one rebound, eight assists, two steals and one three-pointer.
After racking up eight assists in a March 14 loss to the Celtics, Carrington totaled ten in the four games that followed. While that stretch included a 30-point night, Bub’s growth as a playmaker for others is one of the key storylines for the Wizards over the last month of the season. And that’s with it being clear that Trae Young will be running the show in the future. Carrington recorded eight assists and three turnovers, a solid night despite it occurring in a blowout defeat. The Wizards play three games in Week 22, starting with the Jazz on Wednesday.

Bub Carrington accumulated 19 points (7-of-12 FGs, 1-of-3 FTs), three rebounds, three assists and four three-pointers in Friday’s loss to the Thunder.
After beginning Week 21 with a four-point effort against the Warriors on Monday, Carrington has reached double figures in three straight. Saturday’s stat line wasn’t on par with his 30-point Tuesday against the Pistons, but Carrington shot the ball well against the Thunder. The second-year guard shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, moving to 11-of-21 over the last three games. The Wizards visit the Knicks on Sunday in their final game of Week 21.

Trae Young (quad, back) has no timetable to return.
The Wizards released an injury update on Young, who sustained a right quad contusion Monday against the Warriors. The 27-year-old point guard is also said to be dealing with lower back irritation. Young had already been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Thunder and is currently without a timetable to return to game action. Bub Carrington should continue to start for the Wizards for the foreseeable future.

Trae Young (quad) is out for Saturday’s game against the Thunder.
Saturday’s game will be the third that Young has missed since suffering a quad contusion during Monday’s loss to the Warriors. Bub Carrington should remain in the starting lineup, and he is worth rostering while Young is out.

Trae Young (quad) is out for Thursday’s game against the Pistons.
Injured during Monday’s loss to the Warriors, Young will miss a second straight game with a quad contusion. Bub Carrington, who scored a season-high 30 points on Tuesday, should remain in the starting lineup.

Bub Carrington led the Wizards with 30 points (12-of-16 FGs), four rebounds, two assists and six three-pointers in a 130-117 loss to the Pistons on Tuesday.
With Trae Young (quad) sidelined, Carrington moved into the starting unit and ended up having arguably his best offensive performance of the season. He set a new season high for scoring and matched his season high for three-pointers in what was a far more efficient outing than what he typically delivers. If Trae remains out against the Pistons on Thursday, Carrington should be in for another start.
