Bub Carrington, Tre Johnson, Will Riley, Bilal Coulibaly and Alex Sarr will start against the Heat on Tuesday.
Riley will return to the starting unit after coming off the bench the last two games. Leaky Black started on Sunday, but he will be in the G League and unavailable for this game. Carrington returns to the starting unit with Trae Young (knee) sitting this one out.
  • WAS Guard #3
Trae Young (knee, quad) is off the injury report for Thursday’s game against the Jazz.
Announced by Young himself on Monday, it’s now official that he will make his Wizards debut on Thursday. The star point guard will be limited to 17-20 minutes, so there will still be plenty of minutes available to Bub Carrington, even if he’s moved to the bench to make room for Young.
  • WAS Guard #13
Sharife Cooper recorded 21 points (8-of-10 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, three assists and three three-pointers in Monday’s loss to the Rockets.
Having totaled 22 points in his prior four appearances, Cooper recorded his first 20-point game as an NBA player on Monday. The guard was highly efficient, shooting 80 percent from the field and committing no turnovers. Cooper has not been productive enough to merit fantasy consideration, and things will get more challenging with Trae Young expected to make his Wizards’ debut on Thursday. Young will be limited to 17-20 minutes, but one would assume that most of the remaining minutes will go to Bub Carrington (11/5/4/2 with two three-pointers in 28 minutes).
  • WAS Guard #3
Trae Young (knee, quad) will make his Wizards’ debut on Thursday against the Jazz.
Acquired from the Hawks in early January, Young has been rehabbing knee and quad injuries that he suffered early in the season. While his return to action would push Bub Carrington to the bench, Young will be limited to 17-20 minutes on Thursday. Between the time that he’s missed and Washington’s need to hold onto its first-round pick, which is top-8 protected, it wouldn’t make much sense for Young to play heavy minutes between now and the end of the season.
  • WAS Guard #3
Trae Young (knee, quad) and Alex Sarr (hamstring) are considered week-to-week.
Young and Sarr were re-evaluated this week, and neither player is particularly close to a return to game action. And in the case of the former, he has yet to make his Wizards’ debut. As a result, fantasy managers are left to stash Young and Sarr in IL slots, while the absences make Bub Carrington and Tristan Vukčević more valuable in fantasy leagues.
  • WAS Guard #7
Bub Carrington posted a full line with three points (1-of-6 FGs), 10 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, two blocks and one three-pointer against the Hawks on Tuesday.
It was a rough shooting night for Carrington, but he was productive in other areas to make up for it. He set a new season high for rebounds, though he had one of his lowest-scoring outings of the season. Year two hasn’t been kind to Carrington, and while he should continue to play big minutes down the stretch of this season, he hasn’t been productive enough for managers to be optimistic about his future.
  • WAS Guard #12
Tre Johnson (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game against the Heat.
Sunday’s game will be the sixth that Johnson has missed since spraining his left ankle during a January 29 win over the Bucks. Bub Carrington has been the replacement in the starting lineup and should retain that role until the rookie is cleared to return.

Tre Johnson (ankle) is out for Saturday’s game against the Nets.
Johnson has been out since spraining his left ankle during a January 29 win over the Bucks. Bub Carrington has been the replacement in the starting lineup, and he’s worth streaming until that changes.
  • WAS Guard #7
Bub Carrington tallied 14 points (4-of-10 FGs, 3-of-6 FTs), two rebounds, one assist and three three-pointers in Tuesday’s loss to the Knicks.
After having his double-digit scoring streak end at eight games over the weekend, Carrington started a new streak on Tuesday. If there was a negative for the Wizards’ point guard from a fantasy standpoint, it’s that he recorded just one assist. At a minimum, Carrington should remain in the starting lineup until Tre Johnson can return from his sprained ankle. And even if he is used in a reserve role, playing time should not be an issue for Bub the rest of the way. He’ll be worthy of a look for the “silly season.”
  • WAS Guard #12
Tre Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out against the Knicks on Tuesday.
Johnson injured his ankle on Thursday and will now miss a third straight game since then. Bub Carrington should remain a starter in his place, where he has been a decent source of points, assists and triples, even if he struggled in their last game.
