Watkins remains out for a third consecutive game with a sprained left ankle/foot. His absence does not affect fantasy basketball, but Leaky Black has picked up rotation minutes, most recently starting Thursday’s loss to the Jazz.

Vukčević remains out for another game, but his absence is countered by Alex Sarr’s return from a strained hamstring. Julian Reese will head to the bench, eliminating the streaming value he possessed as a starter.

Alex Sarr (hamstring) is not on the injury report for Sunday’s game against the Pelicans.

Sarr has not appeared in a game since February 8, but that will change on Sunday. With Trae Young also available, the two will be able to get some in-game reps together with an eye toward the future. Julian Reese will head to the bench, but he should remain in the rotation with Tristan Vukčević sidelined.

Julian Reese recorded a double-double on Thursday with 18 points (5-of-7 FGs, 8-of-8 FTs), 20 rebounds, two assists and one steal against the Jazz

The rookie has started all three games of his NBA career after signing a two-way contract less than a week ago, but this way by far his best performance. This was his highest-scoring and highest-rebounding game so far, and he completely dominated down low, which included 10 offensive rebounds. Reese should certainly be considered for teams in need of boards down the stretch of this season, though it is unlikely this carries over into next year.

Trae Young made his debut for the Wizards on Thursday and finished with 12 points (4-of-9 FGs, 3-of-6 FTs), two rebounds, six assists, two steals and one three-pointer against the Jazz.

Young finally made his debut for Washington after Atlanta traded him nearly two months prior. He was expected to be limited to 17-20 minutes, and he ended up falling inside that range at 19 minutes. While there were some fun moments with him on the floor, and there is a clear vision for this team next season, Young will need to see his minutes increase for him to truly make a fantasy impact. Otherwise, he ends up being a big name that’s too good to drop but not productive enough to help in the fantasy playoffs. Unfortunately, Washington likely won’t have much interest in playing him much more than he did in this game.

Trae Young, Tre Johnson, Bilal Coulibaly, Leaky Black and Julian Reese will start Thursday’s game against the Jazz.

Young is making his Wizards debut on Thursday, and he’ll do so as a starter. Bub Carrington heads to the bench, but he’ll still get quality playing time due to Young’s restriction of 17-20 minutes. The other change to the lineup is Black, who replaces Will Riley in the starting five.

Anthony Gill (illness) is available to play against the Jazz on Thursday.

Gill will return to the lineup following a two-game absence. Julian Reese has started with Gill sidelined, though that could change with Gill available. Regardless, neither should be rostered outside of the deepest of leagues.

Anthony Davis (hand) has been cleared to begin limited individual on-court basketball activities.

Davis is currently out with ligament damage in his left hand and was traded to Washington despite the injury. He recently met with Dr. Steven Shin, a hand specialist, and was cleared for the limited return to practice. The Wizards released a statement that Davis will be re-evaluated in two weeks, at which time they will have a clearer timeline of when, or if, he can return to the court this season.

Kyshawn George (elbow) will be re-evaluated in three weeks.

George injured his left elbow during Monday’s loss to the Rockets, and he was initially diagnosed with a sprain. Further evaluations revealed a partially torn UCL, and the second-year wing will be re-evaluated in three weeks. While there is a chance that George returns for the final week of the fantasy season in standard Yahoo! leagues, he would likely be under a minutes limit if so. For those who held off on adding Will Riley, now is the time to do so.
Jamir Watkins

WAS Forward #5

Jamir Watkins (ankle) is out for Thursday’s game against the Jazz.

Watkins will miss a second straight game with a sprained left ankle. While his absence does not affect fantasy basketball, it does free up rotation minutes for Leaky Black.
