Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd’s decision to drop Ryan Nembhard to the bench did not result in Williams being moved into the starting lineup. However, he played 24 minutes, while Nembhard (five points, three assists and one three-pointer) played 13. Neither guard has been exceptionally reliable in fantasy basketball this season, with both ranked outside the top-200 in eight- and nine-cat formats. For that reason, fantasy managers should not rush to add either, especially ahead of a three-game Week 12.

Max Christie amassed 24 points (10-of-13 FGs), seven rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and four three-pointers in Saturday’s win over the Rockets.

Anthony Davis may have been the headliner on Saturday, but he received ample help from Christie. The Mavericks guard has scored at least 18 points in three consecutive games, providing third-round fantasy value over the past week. Christie appears well-positioned to hold onto his starting job for the foreseeable future, which makes him worth a look in 14-team leagues. He’s currently rostered in 12 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

Anthony Davis tallied 26 points (9-of-15 FGs, 8-of-9 FTs), 12 rebounds, three assists and five blocked shots in Saturday’s win over the Rockets.

The decision to replace Ryan Nembhard in the starting lineup with Daniel Gafford (9/8/1/0/2 in 19 minutes) pushed Davis to his preferred power forward role, and he had one of his most impactful games of the season. In addition to recording his 11th double-double of the season, the Mavericks’ forward/center tallied a season-high five blocked shots. Davis is more comfortable at the four, but how much he gets to play there depends on Gafford’s availability. The Mavericks play three games in Week 12, starting with the Kings on Tuesday.

PJ Washington (ankle) will not return to Saturday’s game against the Rockets.

Washington sprained his right ankle during the first quarter of Saturday’s game and has since been ruled out for the rest of the night. While Dwight Powell may enter the rotation, the Mavericks could choose to finish Saturday’s game with an eight-man rotation. There’s no need to add Powell following Saturday’s game.

Ryan Nembhard’s recent struggles have prompted a change to the Mavericks’ starting lineup. He’ll head to the bench, leaving Flagg to handle the lead playmaker responsibilities, with Gafford moving into the starting lineup. This gets Davis to his preferred power forward role in a matchup with a bigger Rockets lineup.

Flagg did not shoot the ball well on Thursday, but he’s now recorded at least five assists in six consecutive games. The increased assist production is one reason why the rookie has been a top-50 player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. The Mavericks play once more during Week 11, at home against the Rockets on Saturday, before playing three games in Week 12.

Max Christie accounted for 19 points (7-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), one rebound, two assists and two three-pointers in Thursday’s loss to the 76ers.

One game removed from scoring a season-high 25 points, Christie pumped in 19 more against the 76ers. While his season-long fantasy value has not been good, the Mavericks’ guard has been close to a top-100 player over the past week. Just as encouraging was Christie remaining in the starting lineup despite Anthony Davis’ return, with Daniel Gafford being bumped to the bench. For that reason, Christie will be worth considering for Dallas’ final game of Week 11 on Saturday.

Anthony Davis (groin) produced 13 points (6-of-13 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in Thursday’s loss to the 76ers.

After missing two games with a groin injury suffered on Christmas Day, Davis was back in the Mavericks’ starting lineup on Thursday. Interestingly, there was no minutes restriction, with the forward/center logging 37 minutes. Davis getting out of the game without issue is a positive, but that may have been a surprise for some fantasy managers. Daniel Gafford played 11 minutes off the bench, finishing with eight points, five rebounds and two steals.

Anthony Davis, P.J. Washington, Ryan Nembhard, Cooper Flagg and Max Christie will start against the Sixers on Thursday.

As anticipated, Davis will return from a groin injury suffered on Christmas Day against the Warriors that forced him to miss the last two games. Davis has dealt with injuries throughout the season, but has been a productive two-way center when healthy, posting averages of 20.5 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.3 steals. His presence will improve Dallas’ chances of ending its three-game losing streak.
