Daeqwon Plowden led the Kings with 22 points (9-of-17 FGs), two rebounds, one assist, one steal and three three-pointers against the Hornets on Tuesday.

Plowden surpassed his career high for scoring in this game, which he previously set five days before this game in his most recent appearance. He has scored in double figures in eight straight games, which is impressive for a player that has scored in double figures just 13 times in his career. Plowden should continue to play a significant role for Sacramento for the remainder of the season, giving him some upside as an option in deep leagues.
Malik Monk

Malik Monk started on Tuesday and contributed seven points (3-of-13 FGs), three rebounds, 14 assists and one steal in a 134-90 loss to the Hornets.

Monk made his first of the season after scoring 32 points in Sunday’s win. While he didn’t replicate that scoring production, he was able to facilitate well. Monk set a new career high for assists, and he did it without turning the ball over. Monk has been a frustrating player to roster this year, but he’s clearly still capable of producing at a high level. He’ll look to continue to shine during silly season.
Devin Carter

Devin Carter finished with 18 points (7-of-15 FGs), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and three three-pointers against the Hornets on Tuesday.

Carter returned to the starting unit with Russell Westbrook and Killian Hayes both sidelined, and he was able to have another solid scoring night. He has scored in double figures in each of his last three appearances, with a five-game absence with a calf injury sandwiched in the middle. Carter should continue to be productive for the rest of the season as he tries to prove that he belongs with this team beyond this year.
Malik Monk

Malik Monk, Devin Carter, DeMar DeRozan, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Maxime Raynaud will start against the Hornets on Tuesday.

Monk will get his first start of the season for the shorthanded Kings. Baldwin, who is currently one a two-way deal for Sacramento, will also be making his first start of the season, while Carter will return to the starting unit. Nique Clifford, Russell Westbrook and Precious Achiuwa are all sidelined, opening up the starting spots.

Precious Achiuwa (back) is out for Tuesday’s matchup with the Hornets.

Achiuwa finished with a 14/15 double-double on Sunday, but he’ll get the night off while dealing with lower back soreness. Dyland Cardwell and Daeqwon Plowden should see additional run against Charlotte with Achiuwa out of action.

Killian Hayes (foot) is out for Tuesday’s matchup with the Hornets.

Hayes suffered the injury to his left foot in Sunday’s win over Brooklyn, and it will cost him at least one game. Devin Carter should see additional run with Sacramento’s backcourt seriously banged up.

Clifford underwent an MRI after injuring his left foot during Sunday’s win over the Nets, and imaging revealed a midfoot sprain. Given the timeline, there isn’t much to gain from stashing the rookie in an IL slot in fantasy leagues. Malik Monk has a high ceiling, but only if the Kings allow him to play quality minutes consistently. Daeqwon Plowden and Devin Carter will receive more opportunities to perform, as they are less proven than Monk at this stage in their respective careers.
Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook (foot) is out for Tuesday’s game against the Hornets.

Westbrook will miss a second consecutive game with a sore right foot. Killian Hayes started in the veteran point guard’s place but exited before halftime due to a foot injury. If Hayes can’t play, Devin Carter may move into the starting five.

Daeqwon Plowden (foot) is probable for Tuesday’s game against the Hornets.

Plowden is on track to play Tuesday night after sitting out Sunday’s win over the Nets. With Nique Clifford (foot) ruled out, Plowden could move into the starting lineup if he’s allowed to play.

Hayes started Sunday’s win over the Nets but had to exit before halftime with a left foot injury. If he’s unable to play on Tuesday, Devin Carter may be thrust into the starting lineup, as Russell Westbrook has already been ruled out.
