Bucks signed Gary Trent Jr. to a four-year, $64 million contract.

After playing on the veteran’s minimum each of the last two seasons, Trent is now the fourth-highest-paid player on the Bucks roster. His numbers took a significant hit in 2024-25, with the guard’s scoring average (8.1) being the lowest since his rookie season. However, that did not sway the Bucks from paying Trent handsomely as the franchise moves on from the Giannis Antetokounmpo era. Given the price tag, he should figure prominently in the team’s plans next season, which raises Trent’s fantasy ceiling.

Senior NBA insider Chris Haynes reports that Gary Trent Jr. is expected to decline his player option for the 2026-27 season.

Trent Jr., an eight-year veteran, is coming off his least productive NBA season since he was a rookie. Still, he came close to averaging double figures in points as a part-time starter while shooting a solid 36.0 percent from beyond the arc. He has never offered much more from a fantasy standpoint than the aforementioned scoring and three-point shooting, so there’s no reason to expect him to provide much fantasy value as his production and playing time continue to decline. Yet, he could serve as a solid role player on the wing for a team looking for floor spacing and perimeter defense.

Ryan Rollins (hip) and Gary Trent Jr. (oblique) are out for Sunday’s game against the Pistons.

Rollins and Trent will end the season on the sidelines, as both are dealing with injuries. AJ Green and Cormac Ryan served as the starting backcourt in Friday’s win over the Nets, and both recorded career-high point totals. They’ll be worth streaming in active fantasy leagues, especially with Green being two three-pointers away from the Bucks’ single-season record.

Gary Trent Jr. (oblique) is out for Friday’s game against the Nets.

Trent played 19 minutes off the bench in Wednesday’s loss to the Pistons, and he missed all eight of his three-point attempts. His absence on Friday should free up additional minutes for Andre Jackson Jr., who played just six minutes in Detroit.

Ryan Rollins (hip) and Gary Trent Jr. (hip) are off the injury report for Wednesday’s matchup with Detroit.

Milwaukee will be down a number of key players tonight, but Rollins and Trent Jr. will be available to handle their typical roles in the Bucks’ backcourt.

Gary Trent Jr. (hip) has been ruled out against the Nets on Tuesday.

This will be a third straight absence for GTJ, and while his starting spot has been filled by Kyle Kuzma, he will be sidelined as well. Taurean Prince and Cormac Ryan should take on extra minutes, with one of them filling the open starting spot.

Gary Trent Jr. (hip) is out for Sunday’s game against the Grizzlies.

Trent will miss a second straight game after injuring his hip during Wednesday’s loss to the Rockets. Kyle Kuzma started Friday’s loss to the Celtics and should remain in that role. While not the most dependable option in category leagues, the Bucks’ many injuries make Kuzma worth the risk.

Gary Trent Jr. (hip) will not play against the Celtics on Friday.

The hip injury that Trent Jr. sustained against the Rockets on Wednesday will keep him out of Friday’s contest. The veteran shooting guard had been playing well recently in an elevated role, with his three-point shooting and scoring providing his value. While he’s sidelined, Cormac Ryan and AJ Green will have chances to put up solid fantasy production.

Gary Trent Jr. (hip) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Celtics.

Trent exited Wednesday’s loss to the Rockets before halftime, giving Cormac Ryan more minutes. Inserted into the lineup to begin the third quarter, Ryan scored a career-high 25 points in 30 minutes. With the Bucks getting some of their key contributors back on Friday, Ryan is not worth the streaming risk in most leagues.

Cormac Ryan logged 25 points (9-of-14 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), two rebounds, four assists and four three-pointers in the loss to the Rockets on Wednesday.

In just his fifth NBA game, the rookie guard topped the 20-point mark for the first time and set a new career-high. He got to his total largely due to his work from beyond the arc, while taking advantage of extra minutes and opportunities following Gary Trent Jr.'s early exit (hip). Ryan has played at least 20 minutes in each of his last two appearances. If he remains in the rotation, his fantasy value will come as a three-point shooter.
