Grizzlies sign Jahmai Mashack to a two-way contract.
Mashack, the 59th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, is now on a two-way deal after beginning the season with the Grizzlies’ G League affiliate. The 6-foot-4 guard played his college basketball at Tennessee and is another option on the perimeter for a team that’s currently without Ja Morant, Ty Jerome, Scotty Pippen Jr. and Javon Small due to injury. To free up a contract slot for Mashack, the Grizzlies waived center PJ Hall.

Jahmai Mashack finished with 15 points (6-of-10 FGs), five rebounds, four assists, four steals, one block, two three-pointers and five turnovers against the Warriors on Tuesday.
Mashack struggled against Portland on Saturday, which was his only other appearance in Vegas Summer League. However, he had a strong performance in the Salt Lake City games, and he was even better on Tuesday. He’s a high-level defender that has also hit shots from deep this summer. There’s certainly a chance that he creeps into the rotation in Memphis, though likely in a small capacity.

Jahmai Mashack finished with 13 points (4-of-9 FGs), one rebound, one assist, three steals, one block and three three-pointers in a 91-90 loss to the 76ers on Tuesday.
Mashack fouled out in his Summer League debut for the Grizzlies just 24 hours before this game. He only committed three fouls on Tuesday, which was a big improvement, since it takes 10 fouls to foul out of a Summer League Game. Mashack is known for his defense, which translated to some steals in this game. However, the deep-range shooting was what really impressed. If he can knock down shots consistently, he could be the latest second-round steal for Memphis.

Jahmai Mashack finished with five points (2-of-4 FGs), four rebounds, nine assists, two steals and one block against the Jazz on Monday.
Mashack wasn’t available to play in the Grizzlies’ first Summer League game since the draft-night trade hadn’t been officially completed yet. It was a weird situation where it seemed like he had been traded to Golden State in one of the most confusing deals we’ve seen yet. Bottom line: he’s a Grizzly. He made his debut in this one, and he made his presence felt immediately, in both a good way and in a bad way. The assists were great. The 10 fouls weren’t. The former Tennessee Volunteer will look to avoid foul trouble as Summer League continues.

G/F Jahmai Mashack is headed to Golden State as part of the seven-team trade headlined by Kevin Durant.
Selected by the Rockets with the 59th overall pick in last month’s draft, Mashack was initially headed to Memphis via trade. Now he’s headed to Golden State as part of a trade that included an NBA-record seven teams. Given his reputation as a rugged defender and “glue guy,” Mashack will look to earn an opportunity with the Warriors, who could use a low-cost contributor due to their current salary cap situation.

Grizzlies selected Jahmai Mashack with the No. 59 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
The Rockets made the official selection, but the pick that had been in the Kevin Durant trade was held by the Suns, who traded Mashack’s draft rights to the Grizzlies. Try to keep up. While not much of a perimeter shooter, the former Tennessee wing is a tenacious defender who mastered the “little things” that can make a big difference during his college career. Mashack will face a challenging battle in Memphis for a place in the team’s rotation, even with Desmond Bane being traded to the Magic.
