The Pelicans waived Jason Smith on Wednesday.
This move is to make room for Christian Wood. He won’t be able to be on a playoff roster. Smith may wind up on another roster soon, but he’s not someone who is on the fantasy map.
  • Power Forward #14
Jason Smith (knee) made his debut for the Pelicans on Tuesday vs. the Bucks with zero points and three rebounds in six minutes.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Bucks are trading Jason Smith to the Pelicans.
The full trade is Jason Smith and Stanley Johnson in exchange for Nikola Mirotic. The Pels will also reportedly net four second-round picks in the deal. Smith has been sidelined by a sore left knee and hasn’t played in three weeks. However, even when he is fully healthy, he is not on the fantasy radar. He should be left on waivers.

Nikola Mirotic will reportedly be traded to the Bucks for Stanley Johnson, Jason Smith and four second-round draft picks.
It was almost assured that Mirotic would be traded by the deadline, but the Bucks are a surprise destination. It’s a great fit for a team that takes 41.6% of their shot attempts from beyond the arc, the second-highest rate in the league behind Houston. Mirotic should slot into a sixth-man role and receive tons of wide-open looks thanks to Milwaukee’s defense-collapsing penetration and passing, so he’s in a nice spot for fantasy purposes. He’s still recovering from a strained calf, though, and may not make his Bucks debut until after the break. When he is cleared it will be bad news for Ersan Ilyasova and D.J. Wilson.

Jason Smith (sore left knee) wasn’t available vs. the Wizards on Wednesday.
Smith had been listed as questionable but his status doesn’t matter in fantasy leagues, even with Thon Maker traded away. Just consider him ‘out indefinitely’.
  • Power Forward #14
Jason Smith (knee) is questionable for Monday’s game in Brooklyn.
He’s a non-factor in the rotation, so his playing status is irrelevant.
  • Power Forward #14
Jason Smith (left knee soreness) will not play Saturday against the Wizards.
    He’s not in the rotation.
  • Power Forward #14
Jason Smith (left knee contusion) is listed as probable for Tuesday’s game vs. the Pistons.
Smith is not a part of the Bucks rotation, having appeared in just one game since the trade that sent him from Washington to Milwaukee.
  • Power Forward #14
Jason Smith didn’t play vs. the Raptors on Sunday.
“It’s been a little bit of chaos [since the trade],” Smith said before the game. “I’m getting acclimated, getting with the coaches, getting with the training staff, trying to get some plays in.” Smith is a solid big man who will bolster the frontcourt with rebounding and pick-and-pop jumpers, but he’s off the fantasy radar while Brook Lopez is healthy.
  • Point Guard #3
George Hill and Jason Smith are both available to make their Bucks debut on Sunday against the Raptors.
All of the necessary red-tape has been completed and everyone from the Cavs-Bucks trade is available for their new team. Hill will be used off the bench and could be able to carve out some fantasy value in the prolific Bucks offense. Smith will be a bench piece and isn’t on the fantasy radar.
