Jaylon Tyson recorded 18 points (6-of-16 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), six rebounds, three assists, one steal and three three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Wizards.
In his second game back from a toe injury, Tyson played 26 minutes on Sunday. The role he enjoyed against the Wizards is unlikely to match what he’ll be asked to do in Cleveland’s first-round series against Toronto, but the second-year wing has shown that he’s a capable contributor. The future appears to be bright for Tyson in Cleveland.
  • CLE Guard #9
Craig Porter Jr., Max Strus, Jaylon Tyson, Nae’Qwan Tomlin and Larry Nance Jr. will start Sunday’s game against the Wizards.
The Cavaliers are locked into the No. 4 seed regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s games, so most of their key contributors won’t play. The exception is Strus, and given the time he missed after undergoing offseason foot surgery, managers in active fantasy leagues should not expect to see him on the court for too long. The other four starters should play significant minutes, although Tyson only recently returned from an injury.
  • CLE Guard-Forward #20
Jaylon Tyson returned to the lineup on Friday and contributed 15 points (7-of-15 FGs), four rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks against the Hawks.
Following a 10-game absence with a toe injury, Tyson was back in the lineup to take on Atlanta. He was able to have a strong showing across the board in the box score, but with the Cavs shorthanded for this game, it wasn’t enough for them to get a win. Tyson got off to a strong start to this season, which helped keep Cleveland afloat while they were battling so many other injuries. He has cooled off with the team healthier over the past couple months, but he’ll still be an important piece for them during the postseason and is a valuable piece for this team’s future.
  • CLE Guard-Forward #20
James Harden, Max Strus, Jaylon Tyson, Dean Wade and Evan Mobley will start Friday’s game against the Hawks.
Tyson is available to play for the first time since March 19, and he will do so as a starter. The Cavaliers are without Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen, resulting in starts for Tyson and Strus. The other three starters are unchanged.
  • CLE Guard-Forward #20
Jaylon Tyson (toe) is probable for Friday’s matchup with the Hawks.
Tyson is on track to play for the first time since March 19. He’ll likely see his minutes monitored with the rest of Cleveland’s roster healthy.
  • CLE Guard-Forward #20
Jaylon Tyson (toe) is questionable to play against the Hawks on Friday.
Tyson was upgraded to questionable ahead of Friday’s contest, giving him a chance at playing for the first time since March 19 against the Bulls. The second-year guard has had a very strong season as a frequent starter. If available, he’ll provide the Cavs with elite three-point shooting.
  • CLE Guard-Forward #20
Jaylon Tyson (toe) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Hawks.
There was hope that Tyson would be able to return on Wednesday, but he’ll miss at least one more game due to his toe injury. Dean Wade is available and will start, so the Cavaliers should be fine regarding their depth.
  • CLE Guard-Forward #20
Jaylon Tyson (toe) and Dean Wade (ankle) are questionable for Wednesday’s matchup with the Hawks.
Both Tyson and Wade have missed significant time, but the pair have a chance to return in Wednesday’s tilt with the Hawks. With Thomas Bryant (calf) ruled out, Larry Nance Jr. could enjoy some additional run if Tyson or Wade end up sitting out again.
  • CLE Forward-Center #32
Dean Wade (ankle) has progressed to doing on-court workouts at game speed.
Wade is progressing in his recovery from a sprained right ankle, but there is still plenty of work to be done. According to Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson, the forward has not reached the point where he’s playing 3-on-3 or 4-on-4. The hope is that Wade is available in time for the playoffs. The Cavaliers have similar hopes for Jaylon Tyson (toe), but he is not as far along in his rehab process as Wade.
  • CLE Forward-Center #32
Dean Wade (ankle) and Jaylon Tyson (toe) are out for Sunday’s game against the Pacers.
Wade and Tyson, who did not travel with the Cavaliers on their three-game road trip that concluded on Thursday, will remain out on Sunday. Due to the absences in the frontcourt, Larry Nance Jr. could move into the rotation on Sunday out of necessity.
