Craig Porter Jr., Max Strus, Jaylon Tyson, Nae’Qwan Tomlin and Larry Nance Jr. will start Sunday’s game against the Wizards.
The Cavaliers are locked into the No. 4 seed regardless of the outcome of Sunday’s games, so most of their key contributors won’t play. The exception is Strus, and given the time he missed after undergoing offseason foot surgery, managers in active fantasy leagues should not expect to see him on the court for too long. The other four starters should play significant minutes, although Tyson only recently returned from an injury.
  • CLE Center-Forward #3
Thomas Bryant (calf) will not play on Friday against the Hawks.
Friday’s absence will mark the third straight for Bryant, who continues to battle a calf issue. The Cavs will also be without starting center Jarrett Allen, leaving their frontcourt depth fairly thin. Larry Nance Jr. could see an increase in minutes as a result of the injuries.
  • CLE Center #31
Jarrett Allen (knee) won’t play against the Hawks on Friday.
On the heels of a 16-point, eight-rebound performance against the Hawks on Wednesday, Allen won’t take the floor in Friday’s rematch. The veteran forward remains an important piece for Cleveland in the middle, thanks to his ability to impact the interior on both ends of the floor. In his absence, Evan Mobley could see more minutes at center, and perhaps someone such as Larry Nance Jr. could find his way into the rotation.
  • CLE Guard-Forward #20
Jaylon Tyson (toe) and Dean Wade (ankle) are questionable for Wednesday’s matchup with the Hawks.
Both Tyson and Wade have missed significant time, but the pair have a chance to return in Wednesday’s tilt with the Hawks. With Thomas Bryant (calf) ruled out, Larry Nance Jr. could enjoy some additional run if Tyson or Wade end up sitting out again.
  • CLE Forward-Center #32
Dean Wade (ankle) and Jaylon Tyson (toe) are out for Sunday’s game against the Pacers.
Wade and Tyson, who did not travel with the Cavaliers on their three-game road trip that concluded on Thursday, will remain out on Sunday. Due to the absences in the frontcourt, Larry Nance Jr. could move into the rotation on Sunday out of necessity.
  • CLE Forward-Center #22
Larry Nance Jr. (illness) is available for Wednesday’s game against the Heat.
Nance is good to go after being listed as questionable on the initial injury report. He’s unlikely to get the minutes needed to affect fantasy basketball, even if Dean Wade (ankle) cannot play. Wade sprained his right ankle during pregame warmups and is considered questionable.
  • CLE Forward-Center #22
Larry Nance Jr. (illness) is questionable to play against the Heat on Wednesday.
Nance was a late scratch on Tuesday and could remain out against Miami. However, he rarely sees the floor when healthy, so his status won’t have much of an impact on their rotation.
  • CLE Forward-Center #22
Larry Nance Jr. (illness) has been ruled out against the Magic on Tuesday.
Nance was a late addition to the injury report and has now officially been ruled out. He isn’t a consistent part of the Cavs’ rotation, so his absence won’t chance much for Cleveland.
  • CLE Forward-Center #22
Larry Nance Jr. (illness) is questionable to play against the Magic on Tuesday.
Being added to the injury report this close to tip-off is never a good sign. However, Nance hasn’t been part of the rotation this season, so his potential absence won’t alter the Cavaliers’ rotation.
  • CLE Forward-Center #22
Larry Nance Jr. (calf) is available for Thursday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Nance is available to play in a game for the first time since November 28. However, there’s no guarantee that he gets into the Cavaliers’ rotation on Thursday. Fantasy managers can leave him on the waiver wire.
