    Thunder waived Payton Sandfort.

Not selected in the 2025 draft, Sandfort spent last season with the Thunder on a two-way contract, appearing in four NBA games. While Thursday’s transaction opens up a two-way slot for Oklahoma City to use on another player, Sandfort is on the team’s Summer League roster.

Payton Sandfort lit up the Suns with 23 points (9-of-13 FGs), four rebounds, one steal and five three-pointers on Sunday.

Sandfort signed a two-way deal with OKC in March, and this was just his fourth appearance. The Thunder already clinched the best record in the league, which led to him playing 28 minutes for a second straight game. He had a monster performance off the bench in this game, but he likely won’t see the floor during the playoffs. Still, it was an impressive performance, and he’ll certainly be kept around the organization.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Payton Sandfort has agreed to a two-way deal with the Thunder.

The undrafted rookie out of Iowa spent time with the OKC Blue of the G League, and he’ll offer some emergency depth for the parent club. Sandfort isn’t on the fantasy radar.
