With starting center Jason Collier about to miss at least two games with severe bronchitis, Predrag Drobnjak will start.
Interesting, because only Antoine Walker and Al Harrington have firm grips on their jobs in Atlanta. If Drobnjak plays well he could eventually earn the nod over Collier.
  • Predrag Drobnjak is earning a bigger look at center for the Hawks.
Drobnjak entered Saturday’s game leading in the NBA in shooting percentage at 66.7. “I think he’s getting in better shape,” coach Mike Woodson said. “He wasn’t in too good of shape when he got here. He’s learning things we want to do, and it’s very nice to see him come along.”
  • Predrag Drobnjak (sprained right ankle) is progressing and could be ready by Friday night.
Keep him reserved. He’s someone who could have some value later in the season.
  • Predrag Drobnjak, Atlanta’s third-leading scorer at 9.2 points per game, is out with a right ankle sprain.
The Hawks may decide to put him on the IL since they can activate Kevin Willis after two more games. Jason Collier had a big game last night without Drobnjak around to take minutes from him.
  • Peja Drobjnak (sprained left ankle) will miss the remainder of the Hawks’ games before the All-Star break, coach Mike Woodson said.
This makes an already-weak position on the team even weaker. Obinna Ekezie will see more minutes.
  • Predrag Drobnjak got the start over Chris Kaman in the Clippers’ opener in Japan.
Drobnjak’s value gets a little boost, though Kaman will see plenty of time and eventually become the starter.
  • Predrag Drobnjak will be activated from the injured list today after sitting out six games.
Drobnjak was sidelined because of back spasms. He’ll go back to playing behind Chris Kaman.
  • Predrag Drobnjak scored a career-high 26 points in Friday’s game.
Drobnjak had just one rebound in the game, but even though the Sonics were beaten on the boards, they topped the Clippers by eight.
  • Predrag Drobnjak had 19 points off the bench for the Hawks tonight.
Kevin Willis got the start (why? we’re not really sure) and Drobs filled it up with the Hawks down big in the second half. He only managed one rebound. Jason Collier will probably be the starting center for the Hawks from here on out.
  • Predrag Drobnjak came off the bench to score 15 points and grab five rebounds in 31 minutes tonight.
Jason Collier played just eight minutes tonight, and the fact that Drobjnak played a part in the big win for the Hawks could have earned him a starting spot. He’s worth a flier in deep leagues.
