They had to waive him in order to make room for Vashil Fernandez. Jankovic will likely join the D-League or head overseas.

Jankovic has yet to make his preseason debut due to the foot issue, but it sounds like that could change Friday night. Still, he’s not a lock to make the team and is not worth drafting in any scenario.

Jankovic has a “soft touch and range but he needs to gain at least 10 pounds” and there are questions about how he could fare on the defensive end of the floor against guys at his position with more strength and/or bulk. Regardless, the big man is not on the fantasy radar at this time.

Richardson is hopeful that he’ll be good to go by opening night, which is a realistic goal given he was handed a 6-8 week timetable back on September 9, although there haven’t been any reports of him getting back on the practice court just yet. Dion Waiters and Tyler Johnson should see most of the two-guard minutes tonight sans Richardson, although Richardson remains the most attractive late-round gamble out of this group. McRoberts and Jankovic aren’t worth drafting anywhere.

Jankovic has been unable to play during the preseason due to the foot injury, and that is really hurting his chances of making Miami’s opening-night roster. There’s no fantasy value here.
