John Simpson (groin) is doubtful to return in Week 9 against the Jets.
The Jets were already down Alijah Vera-Tucker with injury, and now are without his backup it appears. Alec Lindstrom has taken over to help in the interior.

Cowboys signed Boston College OL Alec Lindstrom.
Lindstrom (6’3/298) was a three-year starter along Boston College’s line who was tasked with identifying fronts and making line calls. The younger brother of Falcons 2019 first-round OG Chris Lindstrom, Alec is lauded by teammates and coaches for his football IQ. Lindstrom is a grinder on the field. He understands angles and does not quit working until the echo of the whistle. Lindstrom is a mobile pivot who can be a problem for linebackers on the second level. He posted an 83rd-percentile relative athletic score composite with a 93rd-percentile broad jump and an 86th-percentile shuttle. Lindstrom is on the smaller side and can get bullied into the quarterback’s lap by power nose tackles. He will need to be protected in those circumstances.

Boston College senior C Alec Lindstrom was named to the Rimington Award preseason watch list.
Lindstrom (6'3/295) is coming off a stellar 2020 season in which he was named first-team All-ACC, logging 785 snaps and producing a strong 85.1 PFF pass blocking grade. Over the past two seasons Lindstrom has started every game the past two seasons while playing a staggering 1,740 snaps in that time frame. He is scheduled to anchor one of the most experienced offensive lines in the country that returns all five starters and 125 line starts in total. The decorated BC center is a worthy addition to the coveted Rimington Award watch list, with the award given out to the best college center in the nation.

Pro Football Network’s Tony Pauline writes that Boston College redshirt junior C Alec Lindstrom is a “dynamic center with great bloodlines.”
“The younger Lindstrom is tough and strong, and he shows ability blocking in motion,” Pauline writes of the 6-foot-4, 290-pound redshirt junior. Lindstrom, of course, is the baby brother of former Boston College standout Chris Lindstrom (currently a member of the Atlanta Falcons). Pauline believes that with a strong redshirt junior campaign, Lindstrom the Younger could push into Day 2 of next spring’s draft.
