Broncos re-signed OT Alex Palczewski to a two-year contract.
Palczewski has served as a do-it-all backup for the Broncos, lining up as a left guard, right tackle and, at times, an in-line tight end. He logged 665 offensive snaps last season and earned a 53.7 PFF offense grade for his efforts. The former undrafted free agent blocker turns 27 in August.
  • DEN Safety #6
Broncos declared S P.J. Locke (thumb), QB Zack Wilson, CB Kris Abrams-Draine, T Alex Palczewski, TE Greg Dulcich, LB Dondrea Tillman and DL Eyioma Uwazurike inactive for Week 8 against the Panthers.
Locke was considered doubtful for the bout against the Panthers, and will unsurprisingly miss the contest. Wilson will operate as the emergency third quarterback.
  • DEN Tackle #63
Broncos signed Illinois OT Alex Palczewski.
Palczewski retweeted this news with “Let’s ride.” Palczewski is a big physical guard perfect for Brett Bielema’s ground and pound offense. He is perhaps the prospect with the most experience maybe in the entire draft class with 65 career starts. He has a bit of position flexibility too, playing 49 games at right tackle and the rest at one of the Guard spots. He has a consistent kick slide and can get out in space, although his chest gets exposed on both occasions. He is assignment sound and is steady in sustaining his blocks at the point of attack. He lacks the low center of balance that would prevent him from getting knocked around as much as he does. But, he likely won’t make too many mistakes as a backup filling in for injuries or for a team in desperate need of reinforcements.
