    Chiefs signed third-round DT Tank Tyler to a three-year contract.
    Terms weren’t disclosed. Tyler’s skills align perfectly with what is normally required from a run-stuffing Tampa 2 nose tackle, but he could struggle for playing time behind the more experienced Ron Edwards and Alfonso Boone.

    Free safety Greg Wesley opened Chiefs minicamp as Jarrad Page’s backup.
    Page ran with Bernard Pollard in the first-team defense. The only surprise was rookie defensive lineman Turk McBride, who lined up in the three technique next to Alfonso Boone. Jared Allen and Tamba Hali were the ends.

    Kolby Smith is not participating in Chiefs minicamp.
    Smith’s season ended early with a knee sprain, and it appears that he’s not yet fully recovered. Other Chiefs attending but not participating: Brodie Croyle, Glenn Dorsey, Alfonso Boone, and T.J. Jackson.
