Anthony Mix has worked in Plaxico Burress’ split end spot during practice this week and is expected to start if Burress sits out Sunday.
Mix, a 6-5/235-pound specimen from Auburn, caught three balls for 39 yards in Week 2 reserve duty. You should be able to do better than Mix as a WR3, but he’s someone to consider grabbing in deeper leagues.

Giants re-signed WR Anthony Mix to the practice squad.
The Giants made out well here. While Mix can still be signed by a team willing to open a spot on its active roster for him, he’s New York property for now. The Giants can also match any team’s offer if they feel Mix is worth it.
  • FA Wide Receiver #80
Giants coach Tom Coughlin revealed that Plaxico Burress (ankle) was limited in Friday’s workout. Plax will be a game-day decision in Week 3.
“He was limited,” Coughlin said. “He did some things. He didn’t complete the full practice, but...we will see. It is going to be one of those deals depending on how he feels on game day.” Anthony Mix is likely to start if Burress sits out. Sinorice Moss would work as the primary slot receiver. The Giants head to Washington for an afternoon tilt, so be prepared to use other options.

Anthony Mix, who started in Plaxico Burress’ place on Saturday night, connected with Eli Manning six times for 44 yards and a TD.
The touchdown was an extremely impressive leaping grab that showed nice balance and athleticism. He has a chance to make the team after the performance, despite the Giants being fairly deep at the position.
  • NYG Wide Receiver
David Tyree suffered a fractured wrist Saturday and is expected to miss four to six weeks.
This should help Anthony Mix’s chances of making the team. Tyree could be placed on injured reserve. He was already on the roster bubble.

Giants WR Anthony Mix will again start in place of Plaxico Burress in the team’s fourth exhibition game.
Mix did the same last weekend. It’s a surprise that the Giants aren’t giving Sinorice Moss or Steve Smith starts. It appears Mix has a hold on a roster spot and New York wants to keep Smith at flanker behind Amani Toomer.
  • TB Wide Receiver
    Giants waived WR Anthony Mix.
Quite a surprise. Mix was an excellent practice player for New York, and with Plaxico Burress less than 100 percent with a lingering ankle sprain, seemed to have a good shot at playing time later on. This is a good sign that the Giants are confident in Burress’ health, although Mix will probably be added to the practice squad.
  • TB Wide Receiver
Redskins signed WR Anthony Mix off the Giants practice squad.
The Redskins have had had injuries at receiver and have been looking to add a big target. The 6-5 Mix is not likely to have a fantasy impact this season, but the former Auburn Tiger is now reunited with his college quarterback Jason Campbell.

Bucs WR Anthony Mix has been indicted for having sex with a minor in Alabama.
The two engaged in consensual sex, but the girl was 15 years old. Mix, 25, faces up to a year in prison if convicted. The 6'5/235-pound Mix flashed on the Redskins’ practice field once upon a time, but was a massive long shot to make the Bucs. Obviously, he has no shot to stay on the roster now.

    Bucs released WR Anthony Mix.
Mix’s indictment for having sex with a minor made this GM Mark Dominik’s easiest move to date. It’s hard to imagine Mix getting another shot soon.
