Falcons exercised RB Bijan Robinson’s fifth-year team option for 2027.
Robinson has totaled more than 1,450 scrimmage yards in all three pro seasons, most recently churning out 2,298 scrimmage yards, 11 touchdowns and 79 receptions last year. Robinson was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2023, is a two-time defending Pro Bowl player and last year earned first-team All-Pro honors as a running back and second-team All-Pro honors as an all-purpose player. The front office could put off a long-term contract extension until next offseason, but getting one done before the 2026 season begins would likely save them money down the road. He will contend for the 1.01 spot in fantasy drafts this year.

Falcons GM Ian Cunningham said an extension for Drake London is “on top of mind.”
London said the team remains focused on free agency and adds that an extension for London, along with RB Bijan Robinson, may not receive more focus until after the draft. London is in the final year of his rookie contract and caught 68 passes for 919 yards and seven touchdowns last season. The former No. 8 overall pick has one 1,000-yard season on his resumé and has dealt with a mixed bag at quarterback since entering the league in 2022. This is the second time this offseason that Cunningham has mentioned extending London, so we would expect a deal to get done sooner than later.

Falcons signed RB Brian Robinson, formerly of the 49ers, to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.
It’s backup money, and Robinson will now caddy for Bijan Robinson after spending the 2025 season behind Christian McCaffrey. It’s not great news for Robinson’s fantasy prospects barring an injury to Robinson. It’s also not incredible news for Robinson’s fantasy prospects that the Falcons managed to replace Tyler Allgeier with an above-average backup that is worthy of work. What it is? A good signing for the price by a team that needed another running back. And a confusing grouping of B.Robinsons for inexperienced fantasy football managers to have to remember.

Cardinals signed RB Tyler Allgeier, formerly of the Falcons, to a two-year contract worth $12.25 million.
It’s well short of what Allgeier was reportedly expecting — something in the range of $22 million over three seasons. He lands in a crowded Arizona backfield alongside Trey Benson and James Conner, who recently took a pay cut to remain with the Cardinals in 2026. Allgeier rushed 210 times for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie in 2022 before being replaced as the Falcons’ lead back by Bijan Robinson in 2023. His peripherals fell off a cliff in 2025, as he averaged a career-low 3.6 yards per carry and average 0.11 broken tackles per rush, which ranked 49th out of 66 qualifying running backs. Allgeier will likely split backfield duties in Arizona and will remain as touchdown dependent as any back in fantasy football.

Falcons will play a 2026 regular season game in Madrid, Spain.
Who the Falcons will face has yet to be announced. The Madrid game will be among the league’s many international contests during the 2026 regular season. Last year the Falcons played the Colts in the first-ever-NFL regular season game in Berlin. This one will feature an Atlanta team under new head coach Kevin Stefanski, perhaps working with a new quarterback after Michael Penix showed in 2025 that he’s likely not a starting-caliber NFL QB.

The Athletic’s Josh Kendall believes Bijan Robinson’s heavy workload will continue “and perhaps even increase” under new head coach Kevin Stefanski.
The Falcons gave Robinson 366 touches in 2025, third in the league behind Jonathan Taylor (369) and Christian McCaffrey’s league-leading 413. Tyler Allgeier is a free agent and Stefanski’s teams have heavily emphasized the run. While we’re not saying that Robinson is a sure bet for an increase — it’s hard to call any player with 366 touches as “due” for more work — it does appear to at least be on the table. That would only strengthen his case to go 1.1 in most standard drafts in 2026.

Bijan Robinson rushed 15 times for 33 yards in the Falcons’ Week 18 win over the Saints, adding three receptions for 10 yards.
Coming off a monumental Week 17, Robinson finishes the season with his fewest yards from scrimmage at 43. Disappointing, though Robinson still easily secured the league’s overall yardage crown at 2,298, which also goes down as a new personal best. We already knew Robinson was one of the league’s best overall offensive players, but now he has a strong claim to the title of *the* best, especially with Christian McCaffrey slowing down between the tackles. 26 days shy of his 24th birthday, Robinson is eligible for a contract extension, though the Falcons will probably simply exercise his fifth-year team option first. Despite the Falcons’ coach and quarterback question marks, Robinson profiles as probably your best overall bet at the No. 1 spot in offseason drafts.

Bijan Robinson rushed 22 times for 195 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ Week 17 win over the Rams, adding 34 yards and a touchdown on five receptions.
Robinson accounted for 229 of the team’s 345 yards of total offense on the evening, with his two first half touchdowns contributing to a 21-0 lead at the half. Those exploits included the longest rush of his career, college included, when he sprung free on an outside zone run for a 93-yard touchdown at the end of the second quarter. He would see his workload siphoned away by Tyler Allgeier after the break, as has been customary for the Falcons this season. That said, Allgeier gained only 23 yards on his 10 touches - all carries. His eight targets were also double that of any other Atlanta pass-catcher, hitting 30 opportunities for the second time in the last three games. Robinson should remain a top tier, first-round fantasy asset after finishing the 2025 regular season on an absolute tear.

Bijan Robinson rushed 16 times for 76 yards in the Falcons’ Week 16 win over the Cardinals, adding seven receptions for 92 yards and one touchdown.
Robinson dominated from start to finish, playing especially well on the Falcons’ three-play third drive, in which Robinson accounted for all 65 yards gained. On the drive’s first play, Robinson ran a delayed route out of the backfield before catching a pass and scampering away for a 41-yard gain. He then picked up 11 yards on a run up the middle before snagging a screen pass on the right side of the field en route to the end zone. He nearly secured a second score on a 26-yard pass with two minutes remaining in the first half, but QB Kirk Cousins just barely overthrew him. Robinson is an elite RB1 against the Rams next week.

Falcons RB Bijan Robinson (illness) practiced fully on Thursday.
Robinson was a full participant yesterday as well. Players generally play through illnesses and we see no reason to think Robinson will be limited on game day. The Falcons face the Cardinals in Week 16. He is a locked-in RB1 for the occasion.
