Maryland received a verbal commitment from three-star 2018 WR Brian Cobbs.
Hayfield Secondary (Virginia) HC Eric Henderson offered up a nice breakdown of his pupil, telling Scout.com, “Great route runner – one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. He’s able to sink his hips and change directions quickly, and gets out of his breaks fast. He’s a smooth athlete, so he doesn’t look like he’s running as fast as he really is.” The coach added that Cobbs (6'3/200) is “one of the hardest workers and highest character kids I’ve coached in the last 10 years.” Scout ranks him as the No. 5 wideout in the state of Virginia.
