Ravens selected Texas Tech DT Broderick Washington with the No. 170 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Washington (6’2/305) was a captain and three-year versatile starter at Texas Tech who was an All-Big 12 honorable mention three times despite playing under four different coaches. He’s a physical player, using bullrushes on passing downs and occupying space against the run. However, his physicality was heightened against Big 12 competition and may not completely translate at the next level, especially as a pass-rusher, but he’s been described as a “future coach” and has room for growth after being recruited as an offensive lineman. Washington’s demeanor and physical presence are enough to profile him as a potential rotational lineman in the NFL.

NFL Media’s Lance Zierlein compared Texas Tech DT Broderick Washington to Cincinnati Bengals DT Andrew Billings.
Washington (6'2/305) was a solid run-defender for the Red Raiders over the last few seasons. Zierlein notes his “dirt-dog” personality, and notes that he can both set the edge and press on the inside. “He’s got a lot of love in that building,” an NFL Scout for an NFC team told the analyst. “He’s got a naturally violent playing style that is going to translate into the league.” The concerns come as to whether he can help as a pass-rusher, but Washington has a high-floor as a two-down defensive lineman, one who likely goes off the board early on Day 3.

Pro Football Focus notes that Texas Tech senior DL Broderick Washington Jr. ranked first among returning Big 12 players that are interior defensive lineman returning in 2019.
Washington Jr. (6'3/305) was able to pick up 25 run stops in the 2018 season, which is four more than Baylor’s Bravion Roy and five more than than teammate Joseph Wallace. Washington Jr. also had seven tackles for loss and three sacks, and was one of the most productive defenders on a Texas Tech defense that didn’t have many of them. Another strong year should push up his draft consideration in 2020.
