Giants hired Chad Hall, formerly of the Jaguars, as their assistant QBs coach.
Hall spent the previous two seasons in Jacksonville as the Jaguars wide receivers coach and served in the same role with the Bills from 2019 to 2022. The hiring of Hall has already led to early speculation that the QB-needy Giants could be a potential landing spot for Matthew Stafford, who is Hall’s brother-in-law. Stafford and the Rams need to figure out his contract situation for next season, but if they prefer to cut bait instead, the Giants could be a team to watch. It’s all just loose speculation at this point, but it’s something to keep in mind as we move closer to the offseason.

Jaguars hired Chad Hall as WR coach.
Hall returns to Jacksonville after playing for the Jaguars during the 2014 preseason. The 36-year-old spent the last six seasons in Buffalo, coaching Stefon Diggs to three straight Pro Bowls. With Christian Kirk coming off a career year and suspended WR Calvin Ridley expected to be reinstated, Hall will have another talented cast to work with in Jacksonville.

Eagles signed WR/KR Chad Hall off their practice squad.
It’s not a good sign for Jeremy Maclin’s shoulder. Hall is a versatile player that can return kicks and carry the ball, but the Eagles have mainly used him as a receiver despite his 5'8/187 frame.
  • Wide Receiver
Eagles WR Steve Smith didn’t play a single snap against the Seahawks in Week 13.
Chad Hall, promoted from the practice squad just two weeks ago, played 12 snaps as the Eagles’ fourth receiver. Smith can be dropped in all but the deepest Dynasty leagues. An impending free agent, he’s unlikely to be back in Philly for the 2012 season.
  • FA Defensive Back
Eagles special teams coordinator Bobby April lists CB Brandon Boykin is the primary kickoff returner and WR Damaris Johnson as the punt returner early in camp.
Impressive undrafted rookie CB Cliff Harris is also in the mix for both jobs. Although Boykin is essentially assured of a roster spot as a fourth-rounder, April can “definitely” envision coach Andy Reid keeping Johnson or Harris purely for return purposes. We suspect WR Chad Hall’s roster spot is in jeopardy.
  • FA Wide Receiver
49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said rookie WR A.J. Jenkins has not been bypassed on the depth chart by Chad Hall.
Hall was called up from the practice squad on Saturday and played one snap in Sunday’s win over the Falcons, while Jenkins was one of two Niners to not appear in the game. Jenkins has yet to catch a pass after being the No. 30 overall pick in the 2012 draft, and we wouldn’t expect that to change in the Super Bowl.

49ers signed WR Chad Hall from the practice squad.
Hall takes the roster spot of released kicker Billy Cundiff. Hall is a diminutive 5-foot-8 and 187 pounds but has the ability to line up in the slot or in the backfield. He’s unlikely to see many, if any, offensive snaps, though. We wouldn’t read into this as an indication of Michael Crabtree’s game-day status.

Chiefs claimed WR Chad Hall off waivers from the 49ers.
This may spell the end of Devon Wylie in Kansas City. Hall, 27, is a slot-type gadget player with some special teams value. With Andy Reid in Philly last season, Hall caught three passes for 20 yards and had three carries.

    Chiefs re-signed WR Chad Hall.
Hall was cut loose one month ago to make room for WR Kyle Williams. Williams tore his ACL a couple weeks later. Hall will contribute on special teams if active on game days. DT Jerrell Powe was waived to make room for Hall.

    Chiefs waived WR Chad Hall.
It’s a sign the Chiefs expect Dexter McCluster (ankle) to return for Week 16. Hall, an old favorite of Andy Reid, has been doing the roster dance with Kansas City all season.
